Matt & Tara – Nashville, TN Wedding Photographer

Matt & Tara are a couple that I knew would be amazing from the start!  They were referred to me by two of my couples that were married last spring, which means they had to be great!  I met up with them for their engagement session last November on a day that happened to be a super stressful one for me…anyone remember that time that I wrecked my brand new van as I pulled into an engagement session, all the while making an offer on the house that we now live in?!  Yep, that was how it went!  Their engagement session had to be done in record time due to the craziness of that day, and I’m so glad that on their wedding day we had loads of time to photograph their awesomeness :)!!  These two were the epitome of what it looks like to be truly in love.  The way they gaze at each other is so heartwarming and the energy between them is palpable.  I loved capturing the beauty and love between them on their wedding day!   A little glimpse into their day is all I can show you, however I think you can tell from these just how crazy they are for one another!

I met the girls at the church where they were getting ready.  A  beautiful dress and some fabulous shoes were there just waiting to be photographed!

The ceremony was held at the Cathedral of the Incarnation.  The church is  breathtaking and so full of light.  Tara’s brother walked her down the aisle and I just love the look on Matt’s face as he awaits his bride!

Tara looked absolutely stunning.  She has such a classic look about her, and was flawless on her big day!  Oh, and did I mention that she got up at 5 am on her wedding day to do her flowers??  She did such a wonderful job!  The colors complimented the bridal party perfectly!!

After finishing up photos at The Cathedral, everyone headed over to Union Station, where the reception would be held, for a few more photos!

There was a bit of time between the ceremony and reception, which was great for me because it meant I had plenty of time to capture the details that had been set up for the reception.  I think it was also wonderful for the bride and groom because they got a bit to relax before their party.  This is definitely not the norm for me, but it was a refreshing change of pace!!  Once the newlyweds entered the reception in grand fashion, there were some heartfelt toasts by the maid of honor and also the best man, one of Matt’s brothers.  My favorite toast was Matt’s toast to his bride.  If there was a dry eye in the room, neither of them belonged to me or to Tara!

After that, dinner was served and the dancing began!  Since neither Matt nor Tara is from this area, most of their guests had traveled for their wedding.  That meant they were here to stay for the night and the party showed it.   Such a fun crowd!!

One of the couples that sent these two my way was at the wedding so I had to grab a shot of them as well!!  And, I’m not sure what the trash bag dance was about, but I’m sure someone can fill you in :)!

The night ended with a fun little polka dance to pay homage the mother of the bride’s heritage!

Matt and Tara – You guys make my job so easy!!  It was an honor to be a part of your day!!  I enjoyed every minute of it!!  Special thanks to Chelsey Somohano for helping me with this wedding!!  You are fabulous, and I cannot thank you enough!!  And to all of the vendors that made the entire day flow so smoothly – much appreciation!!!!
