Matilda Jane Love- Lebanon, TN Photographer

I am in love with Matilda Jane’s clothing and the company itself.  We were lucky enough to be nominated and selected for a surprise gift when they were sending out “spread the love” packages in December by a dear person in our family.  When we got home on December 23rd, there was a box from Matilda Jane addressed to Claire on our doorstep.  Claire was asleep in the car, but there was no way I was waiting to open up the box.  I had no idea what was inside, but was totally shocked when I opened it and found 19 pieces of clothing for her!!!! (I took a picture of it, but of course can’t find it anywhere now!!)  I was speechless , humbled, and felt totally undeserving of all of this!  Claire has been dressed in MJC almost every day since then, and will be well stocked for spring & next fall too.  I cannot believe that they picked us, and  really think alot of a company that sent out over 200 of these boxes to girls all over the country! 

I had heard that they were accepting submissions for their Photo Love contest, and definitely planned on participating.  This little surprise package made that ALOT more fun!!  While I would have loved to send in a photograph of Claire modeling all of her new clothes, at 3, she’s a bit of a handful and her attention span isn’t quite what I’d like it to be.  Unfortunately, that usually results in me losing my patience with her, and it’s all down hill from there.  So, instead I asked Parker’s mom if I could have  a short session with her and use one of her photos as my submission.  I think she’s simply gorgeous, and even though she’s 5, she’s little & I thought she’d be able to wear some of the clothes they sent to Claire.  We had a couple of days of warm-ish weather, and I called her mom on a whim to see if they were free for the afternoon & met them for just a bit at one of my favorite locations. 

Parker was sweet as could be as always, and I had fun doing these with zero pressure!

While I know that photographers all over the country have entered this contest, I really hope that I can make it onto their photographer link page!  If not, I still had a blast taking these & I am already so thankful to this company for the blessing they bestowed on me and my girl a few weeks ago!  No joke, one of my biggest fears about quitting my “other” job was not being able to buy Claire cute clothes – so petty I know, but I really enjoy it!  Thank you Heather, for letting me borrow your big girl for a little bit, and thank you Lindsey for thinking enough of us to nominate us for spread the love.  I am so honored, and owe you big time :)!!
