You may remember seeing Jody & Rebecca’s engagement photos on my blog many months ago. These two were married in Florida back in May and this past weekend held their reception here in Nashville for all of those folks that weren’t able to make the trek to celebrate with them. The event was held at the W.O. Smith School of Music. This is an amazing venue with an awesome purpose. If you’re looking for a place to hold a reception or other type of event in an out of the ordinary setting, you should definitely check this place out!
The craziness of the day was that at 7:30 the morning of the reception, I received a call from an expectant mom that she was in labor. While this may not be a huge deal to most, I was the back-up photographer to photograph her birth and whattayaknow, Mrs. Brooke Kelly was on vacation, which meant I was up. Sweet babies don’t really care what anyone else’s schedule is, and this little thing had decided that she was coming while Brooke was gone! I was in a bit of a bind and reached out to many photographers around Nashville for help! I needed someone to come with me to the reception in the event I needed to leave to go meet this baby. Thankfully, my call was met by Mr. Ian Riley. He came along and ended up finishing up the coverage on his own. I feel as though I owe him waaaay more than a thank you, because the last thing I wanted was to let Rebecca and Jody down! Rebecca was super cool about the whole thing, and I could not have asked for any more understanding clients. A huge shout out to Ian for stepping up and saving my behind!!
