Serenbe Wedding Photographer – Lillian and Sloan

Last weekend, I witnessed and had the honor of helping Tammy Marcelain shoot one of the most beautiful weddings ever.  It wasn’t all about the grounds, or the venue, although they were amazing, but about two remarkable people and their love for one another.  I have known Lillian since she was a newborn baby, so in many ways this wedding was a bit surreal for me.  She has grown into a gorgeous young woman with a heart of gold.  Sloan is such a gentleman and knows exactly how to treat the woman he loves.  At their young ages, they have been together for what already seems like a lifetime, and this was the perfect portrayal of their love for one another.

The wedding took place just outside of Atlanta at the Inn at Serenbe.  It was the quaintest of communities, and in some ways like stepping into another time or country.  I absolutely loved it there, and would love to go back in the future.  It fit their style perfectly and was such an amazing backdrop for their big day.

Lillian and Sloan chose to do a First Look prior to the ceremony at the Equestrian Center.  Such an gorgeous place!!!

I cried my eyes out during this ceremony.  Lilly and Sloan wrote their own vows, and they were so heartfelt.  I could not get over how honest and beautiful they were.  I loved the raw emotion that each proudly displayed in front of their family and friends.

The reception was held down at the Lake Pavilion on property.  The staff did a wonderful job getting everything set up on what turned out to be a sweltering March day.

I’m such a flowers girl, and I could go on and on about these flowers.  Every arrangement was simply to die for.  I love the elegance of the flowers, paired with the simplicity of the mason jars.

Since both the bride and groom love coffee, they had a coffee bar with fresh coffee beans for all of their guests to take home and enjoy.

The food and cake were delish, and after the eating was over first dances and tosses began.  Unfortunately, due to some cranky children, I had to make my way back to our cottage a little earlier than I had planned.  I missed the grand sparkler exit, but I’m sure Tammy got some great shots that I cannot wait to see!

I love this shot of Lillian and her dad breakin’ it down.  This was not their father daughter dance, but something else.  They totally rocked it out!

Words cannot even begin to express how thankful I feel to have been a part of your day and entire weekend. It was one of the most meaningful celebrations I’ve ever been to.  You guys left nothing undone, no detail  was spared.  It was beautiful, but besides that it was personal AND it was you.  Your young love is to be admired.  Anyone can see, even from afar, how committed you are to God, to one another and to each other’s happiness.  May you always have that fire and that thoughtfulness.  I am not any sort of a philosopher, but I can already tell that you two have great things ahead.  I’m just glad that I get to witness them!  Thank you so much for your kindness and for including my family!  AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!
