The Proposal – Nashville, TN Engagement & Wedding Photographer

I have made reference to this upcoming post both on facebook & in a previous blog post, and I’m finally recovered enough from Christmas to post it!  Early in the week, Philip called me looking for a photographer to “capture a moment” as he said.  He explained that he was planning to propose to his girlfriend on Christmas Eve at Opryland Hotel and wanted someone to photograph it for him.  First off, that’s just amazing!  There aren’t too many guys around who go to that length – proposing is big enough in itself!  We do Christmas with my husband’s family on the 24th so I thought it probably wouldn’t work out.  After working out some timing issues, we figured out a way to make it work!  I just so happened to have a session the following morning at the hotel, so he met me there to show me where he wanted to pop the question, and also so I’d know who I was watching for :)!

He called me a few minutes before they came to “the spot” and I got nervous for him while I waited.  They finally made it up and just kind of stood around waiting for people to clear out.  Their little boy was playing & walking everywhere.  There were plans to involve him in the actual proposal, but he had plans of his own.  I think in this first picture, he’s checking to make sure I’m there. 

After trying unsuccessfully to get the little guy involved, Philip got the party started himself.

I absolutely love this one!!! 

And, she said yes!!  He had to take off to chase the little guy down & I snapped these few shots of Ashley putting on her ring & admiring it.  I love the excitement on her face – too cute!

In this little series, you can see where he’s telling her that I’m there photographing them, and then she looks for me.  Instinctively she leans in for a photo op.

I just couldn’t post this without a ring shot!  You did good!!

We took just a few minutes after all of the excitement and snapped a few photos of the 3 of them and then a few of the newly engaged couple.  They were so adorable!

Thank you so much for allowing me to capture this amazing moment in your lives!!!  It gave me goosebumps and put me in the BEST mood for Christmas Eve!  I loved seeing the surprise and pure joy on Ashley’s face.  It was an absolute blast!  Best wishes for a long and happy life together!!!
